Description:
Playa Vista is the first new community to be established on the Westside of Los Angeles in more than 50 years. It is a $120 million, 1,087 acre urban infill project. The community balances residential, commercial and retail space, creating a place to live, work and play. Situated about a mile from the ocean, Playa Vista is nestled below the bluffs of Westchester, adjacent to the newly restored Ballona Freshwater Marsh and within easy reach of Santa Monica, Venice, Century City and LAX.
Our Role:
Moote provided cost estimating for purposes of feasibility and due diligence support, managed public financed work including state-of-the-art park construction, grading, shoring, wet utility, dry utility, street and, managed the street widening of State Route 90 and Campus St. We managed preservation/improvements of the Riparian Corridor, coordinated oil spill cleanup crews, an archeological dig, the abandonment of oil wells and underground tunneling, surcharging and the sequencing of major earthwork operations. Our services began in 1984 from a conceptual design and finished in 2005 at project build out.
